Job Title: Medical Secretary Location: Small Heath Health Centre, 42 Chapman Road, Birmingham, West Midlands, B10 0PG Hours: 37 hours per week across Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm Trust Location: Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Trust Role type: Temporary for 3 months with possibility of extension What you’ll be responsible for: · Acting as a focal point for telephone enquiries to the Consultant and medical team, taking messages and communicating them in a timely and effective manner as appropriate. · To liaise with a wide range of health service personnel, including those at a senior level within the Directorate, together with a wide range of outside agencies and organisations including General Practitioners etc. · Arranging meetings, reviews, case conferences, taking formal minutes of meetings and circulating the documentation in a timely manner. · To be able to deal tactfully and effectively with crisis calls and calls of a highly sensitive nature using analytical and judgemental skills. · Maintaining good working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team. · Ensuring all care records and relevant paperwork is available, filed, updated and forwarded to destination · Audio typing and minute taking duties (essential requirement) This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience. You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust: 1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS 2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times 3.
