Position: Housing Manager
Salary: £33,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience) plus great benefits including Health Cash Plan.
Employment: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Whitehaven, Cumbria
We can’t offer a CoS for this role.
What you’ll do
Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll get to know our communities. You’ll manage an allocated neighbourhood, supported by our Community Housing Assistants, overseeing arrears management, compliance checks, and safeguarding to ensure our customers live in a safe environment.
You will proactively manage anti‑social behaviours in our estates, respond to customer queries and complaints, manage our voids and letting process—including liaising with local authorities—carry out estate inspections, engage with contractors on site, and record routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.
Use various CRM tools to monitor and record activities in your neighbourhood.
You have
Experience in the housing sector and a solid understanding of housing management and housing law, and knowledge of universal credit is a bonus.
Willingness to work towards Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3 certification.
Resilience to handle challenging complaints.
Confidence working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities and MPs.
Team spirit but independent working mostly on estates.

To get to your work, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage will be paid.
You’ll need a Standard DBS check, which we will pay for.
Part‑time hours are available; you can shape your own diary. Work is mainly Monday to Friday with occasional evenings to meet with customers.
Meet with the team once or twice a week in the office.
