Overview
We are looking for an assistant to join our friendly and innovative Speech & Language Therapy Team. The post holder will provide assistance to the Speech & Language Therapy Service with specific activities as delegated by and under the supervision of a qualified Speech & Language Therapist.
The role will involve working with patients who have a range of Speech & Language Therapy related conditions in a variety of community settings. The post holder will carry out therapeutic interventions as required by the Speech & Language Therapist and be responsible for providing feedback relating to patients progress.
Staff development is a high priority and you will be fully supported by specialist Speech & Language Therapists to enable you to establish yourself and develop in the role.

Responsibilities
* Assist Speech & Language Therapists in gathering information for initial assessment
* Manage care plans
* Troubleshoot messages and assist in organising and facilitating group‑based education
* Provide feedback on patients’ progress
* Perform general administrative duties such as typing patient‑related letters, using an electronic administration system, ordering patient equipment and maintaining stock control of Speech & Language Therapy resources
* Communicate with a wide range of people, including patients with communication impairments, carers, health professionals and other members of the wider multi‑disciplinary team
* Work 16 hours per week
Qualifications
* Experience working in a health environment
* NVQ Level 3 certificate or equivalent
* Excellent communication, IT and organisational skills
* Ability to work under the supervision of a qualified Speech & Language Therapist
