Role Overview
The Cyber Security Engineer at Ideagen will be pivotal in protecting our systems by implementing and improving security controls and monitoring. This role involves collaboration with Dev and CloudOps teams to secure our environments, managing threats and vulnerabilities, and supporting remediation efforts. It's an excellent opportunity for cybersecurity enthusiasts to make a significant impact in a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities
1. Operate and Enhance Security Monitoring Tools: Utilize and improve security monitoring tools to generate valuable intelligence.
2. Automate Audits and Monitoring: Automate system audits to reduce manual efforts within the security program.
3. Collaborate with Teams: Work with CloudOps, Development, and IT Support to address findings and drive resolutions under the guidance of the Head of Cyber Security.
4. Support Training Initiatives: Assist in cybersecurity training to enhance organizational knowledge.
5. Ensure Compliance: Support compliance processes for current and future standards.
6. Conduct System Audits: Assist in audits of systems, processes, and third-party providers.
7. Lead Acquisition Security Integration: Lead the integration of newly acquired entities into our security framework.
Skills and Experience
* Strong communication skills
* Willingness to pass a comprehensive background check
* Experience with Vulnerability Management (configuring, running, analyzing scans, e.g., Nessus)
* Knowledge of Web Vulnerability Management (OWASP Top 10, CWE Top 25)
* Experience with SIEM tools for configuration, analysis, and reporting
* Familiarity with IPS/IDS and Data Loss Prevention tools
* Threat analysis and reporting experience
Desirable Skills
* Recognized security certifications (CEH, CISM, SANS, CISSP)
* Knowledge of compliance standards (FedRAMP, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, PCI)
* Experience with DevOps/Agile methodologies
* Incident Response and Forensics experience
* Integration of security checks into CI/CD pipelines
* Amazon AWS experience and AWS Security - Specialty certification
* Data analytics and reporting skills
* Penetration Testing experience
* Experience with Jira
