Job Overview
We are seeking two dedicated SENCOs to support children aged 2-5 with SEND at Springfield Park Road Nursery and Mini-Springers Nursery. The role involves working closely with nursery staff, parents, and outside agencies to ensure high-quality inclusive EYFS provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS Framework.
Main Responsibilities
1. Coordinate support for children with SEND, ensuring compliance with legal and educational standards.
2. Promote inclusive practices and high expectations for children with SEND.
3. Provide advice and support to colleagues and partners regarding SEND.
4. Lead the implementation of the SEND policy and manage SEN support plans, including statutory paperwork.
5. Support staff through training and professional development related to SEND.
6. Engage with parents and external agencies to facilitate effective support for children with SEND.
7. Contribute to nursery inspections and implement recommendations.
8. Maintain accurate records and manage funding for SEND support.
9. Reflect on practice and pursue ongoing professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: NVQ 3 in Children’s Care Learning & Development or equivalent.
* Desirable: Level 3 Award for SENCOs, current First Aid, Food Hygiene, and DSL training.
* Experience working with children with a range of SEND and in early years settings.
* Knowledge of child development, EYFS, Ofsted standards, and SEND regulations.
* Skills in assessment, communication, record-keeping, and working with diverse backgrounds.
* Personal qualities include approachability, reliability, motivation, and creativity.
