Overview

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust invites applications for a Band 8a / Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to work within the Adult Community Mental Health Team based at Ravensleigh Resource Centre, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

Working pattern: Full-time, flexible working. Salary: £47,810 to £62,682 per year (Band 8a; Band 7 - 8a dependant on experience).

We offer input to adults with complex and diverse mental health needs, trauma-informed care, and a range of psychological approaches (Integrative, CAT, CBT, Compassion Focused, ACT, Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, MBT, EMDR and Family-Systemic psychotherapy). The role involves multidisciplinary working, service development, individual therapy, group work, supervision and consultation.

Note: This post is open to newly qualified psychologists as a Band 7 preceptorship. Applicants must be willing to travel as required and to comply with Trust and national policies.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention for adults with moderate to severe and complex mental health problems; work autonomously within professional guidelines and within the multidisciplinary team.
* Offer consultation, supervision and training to other agencies involved in psychological, emotional and behavioural well-being.
* Lead and participate in multidisciplinary reviews, risk assessment, formulation, and psychologically informed care plans; contribute to service development, audits and research as appropriate.
* Supervise and support Psychology Assistants, Doctoral trainees and Band 7 clinicians; utilise research skills for audit, service development and research.
* Practise within local Safeguarding policies and liaise with partner agencies; ensure high standards of clinical governance and professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
* Engage in CPD and maintain ongoing professional development; participate in supervision and contribute to the development of clinical psychology within the service.


Person Specification

Essential experience and qualifications include:

* Hons degree in Psychology and registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a requires Doctorate in Clinical Psychology; Band 7 may require eligibility and completion of supervised practice).
* Experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment across adult services (outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings).
* Ability to work across different models of psychological assessment, formulation and intervention; strong communication and therapeutic skills; ability to travel within the Trust as needed.
* Experience in teaching, supervision and working with diverse client groups; sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation.

Desirable: experience in teaching/training, supervision, applying clinical psychology in different cultural contexts and group work.


Other Requirements

* UK professional registration in good standing; ongoing compliance with safeguarding requirements.
* Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day (reasonable adjustments considered for disability).
