We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team This is a permanent part-time position working 25 hours per week from 08:30am to 13:30pm Monday to Friday. During busy periods working on the weekend will be required The salary is £16930.65 per annum. The role: • Clean designated areas within the Halls of Residence including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens. • Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs. • Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate. • Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas. • Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting collection of laundered linen from store and bagging up laundry for collection, during the conference season. • Clean internal and external windows, where applicable. • Undertake training as required. • Move free standing furniture as required. • Wash up glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate. • Be prepared to work as and when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends. • To act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices. • Be flexible in providing cover at alternative Halls, as required. • Other duties as commensurate with the post. Working with Others Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff. Possible liaison with specialist sub-contractors and the University Maintenance Section. You must have a conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret basic Heath & Safety guidance.
