About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging English lessons, helping students develop strong literacy skills and achieve excellent academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Teach a range of texts including prose, poetry, and drama.
Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant UK teaching qualification (strong unqualified candidates may be considered).
Experience teaching English at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies.
Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
