Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and proactive Communications Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social justice, digital storytelling, and community engagement. You will support the delivery of our communications strategy, help shape our social media presence, and ensure our message reaches and resonates with our growing community.
Key Responsibilities
* Content Creation:
Develop engaging and dynamic content for our social media platforms, including reels and TikToks.
- Community Management:
Monitor and respond to messages, comments, and inquiries with empathy and professionalism in a timely and sensitive manner.
- Campaign Support:
Assist the Communications Officer in implementing communication strategies and campaigns.
- Research & Analysis:
Conduct research to inform messaging and track media coverage and engagement analytics. Stay updated on social media trends and best practices to ensure our content remains relevant and impactful.
- Storytelling:
Source and share stories that highlight the need for and the impact of preventative education and tackling rape culture.
- Brand & Tone:
Ensure all content aligns with our brand and tone of voice guidelines.
- Trend Monitoring:
Stay up to date on social media trends and identify opportunities for increased reach and engagement.
- Reporting:
Provide regular updates on KPIs, sharing insights to improve communications impact.
This role includes, but is not limited to, the following key areas of responsibility. As we are a fast-growing organisation, your responsibilities may evolve to meet the needs of the organisation
We're looking for someone who:
* Has experience in social media content creation (professional or personal experience in an activist or campaign setting is a plus).
* Can write compelling, concise content and repackage complex information into accessible formats.
* Has excellent attention to detail, research, and analytical skills.
* Has the ability and up-to-date knowledge to critically analyse current affairs and evolving news stories.
* Is confident using design and editing tools (e.g., Canva, Capcut, Adobe, ProCreate).
* Brings strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
* Understands the role of digital storytelling in activism and advocacy.
* Communicates sensitively, clearly, and effectively.
* Is organised, proactive, and passionate about tackling rape culture and driving social change.
