Medical Secretary/PA - Band 4 - Cardiology - 22.5 Hours per week - FTC 6 Months
An opportunity has arisen for a Medical PA to work within the Cardiology Department. This post will be to support the Consultants and Nurses and to provide a high quality, efficient and effective administration and secretarial service.
You will be responsible for ensuring work is completed within strict timescales, supporting clinical and non-clinical activities. You will need to exercise your judgement and initiative based on experience and knowledge of arising problems and take appropriate action to resolve situations, including follow up of investigation results, ensuring that all results are presented to medical staff and subsequently actioned in a timely manner. You will have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure, prioritise your workload and to deal with confidential and sensitive issues in a professional manner with tact and diplomacy. You will be able to communicate in a professional manner with patients, relatives, Trust staff and other departments and have a compassionate nature.
Provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Cardiology Consultants and Team, including typing of letters, medical reports, filing, maintaining team diary, dealing with enquiries and arranging appointments. Work as a member of the Cardiology Team, supporting other team members as necessary and ensuring good communication channels are maintained.

* Manage workload to meet tight timescales and support both clinical and non-clinical activities.
* Exercise judgement and initiative to resolve arising problems and ensure results are presented to medical staff and acted upon promptly.
* Maintain a calm and professional approach under pressure, handling confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.
* Communicate professionally with patients, relatives, Trust staff and other departments.
* Collaborate as a member of the Cardiology Team and support colleagues to maintain effective communication channels.
