Responsibilities
As Head of Data you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Onmo’s data strategy. You will ensure internal and external stakeholders have access to reliable and timely data. And you will collaborate closely with the Data Product Owner to ensure alignment with business goals and requirements.
* Own and communicate the vision for Onmo’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities across risk, finance, product, and customer service.
* Drive data literacy across the organization by enabling self-serve capabilities for non-technical teams.
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of a scalable and robust data warehouse for high quality analysis and reporting across the business.
* Collaborate with the Data Product Owner to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Influence the future design of the loan management system to align with data strategy.
* Facilitate updates to the loan management system or customer processes as needed, e.g. creating robust datamarts to be used within Salesforce communications.
* Oversee the development and implementation of data models, data pipelines, and data warehouses.
* Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the data platform.
* Work with product engineering teams to capture key metrics and KPIs to measure success
* Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
* Lead and scale a team of data engineers and data analysts to support Onmo’s business growth.
* Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, GDPR, and industry best practices for credit card data security and governance.
* Chair the data governance forum and collaborate with other members of the forum to follow good practice.

Your Experience
* Proven experience in a senior data engineering or data platform development role.
* Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python & SQL.
* Experience with data integration tools and technologies (e.g., ETL, ELT, Apache Kafka).
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
* Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Experience using credit card or loan data, understanding business concepts.
* Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Redshift is highly desirable.
