This post will also be considered as in training position under Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms & conditions. For more information, please visit the following link: 18623.pdf (nhsemployers.org). Specifically, section 2(iii) and section 3 in relation to this vacancy.

Here at NHS FV within the PCIP team we strive to ensure our advanced practitioners are supported both clinically and, in their learning, and that they feel valued. We support fulfilment of the 4 pillars of advanced practice, including provision of non-patient facing/CPD time.

We are fully aware that working in Primary Care means you are providing a very generalist role and service to patients. There may be gaps in knowledge and skills for the role which you will be supported with.

PCIP have an ANP training HUB based at a surgery in Tullibody which is nurse led with Senior ANPs. The HUB provides targeted learning opportunities with formal and informal teaching. There is a weekly resource of a Senior Paediatric ANP.

We have great links with Secondary Care and the wider multi-disciplinary team in Primary Care which allows sharing of staff experiences/shadowing whilst providing a positive learning environment. We facilitate shadowing at clinics, with specialist nurses and teams which is vital during clinical courses and fulfilling gaps in knowledge.

We have strong links with The University of Stirling. The Lead ANP and some of the Senior ANPs teach on and help to facilitate advanced practice courses such as the Advanced Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis and Decision Making in Advanced Practice Modules.

Advanced Practitioners have a Senior ANP Mentor allocated to them which ensures good support and communication. The senior mentor also facilitates clinical supervision with their practitioner.

We have 2 days allocated a year for in-service days when practices are closed. This allows the whole team to get together, have any updates, and have that vital peer support.

Have a look at our MDT video below. This will give you an idea of some of the services we provide within the PCIP team.
