Business Development Executive
Salary: Competitive basic + mileage + uncapped commission
Location: York (Hybrid/Flexible) - Driver essential with own transport
Liquid Indulgence, a one-of-a-kind independent wine merchant, is seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Business Development Executive to join their team. We specialize in exclusive, artisan wines and spirits—products you won’t find on supermarket shelves—and collaborate with boutique bars, high-end restaurants, and discerning private clients across the UK.
This is an opportunity to turn your passion into a career and grow within a small, passionate business. You will work closely with an industry veteran, gaining real insight while representing high-quality products. Enjoy flexible working, room to grow, and the chance to make a significant impact. For the right person, there is potential to take on a leadership role and help develop the business long-term as it expands.
The Role
No prior pure sales experience is required; curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a genuine interest in the hospitality, wine, or events industry are key.
You will help grow the Liquid Indulgence brand by finding new clients, building strong relationships, and creating innovative ways to showcase our wines and spirits. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Identifying and approaching potential clients such as wine bars, boutique hotels, gastro pubs, and event venues.
* Creating and pitching ideas to help clients develop appealing drink options.
* Planning and delivering wine tastings, pop-ups, and other events.
* Collaborating on outreach strategies and marketing ideas.
* Sharing the stories behind our wines, from family-run vineyards in Italy to craft distillers in France and Spain.
* Visiting clients, attending tastings, and building relationships in person—this role is field-based and hands-on.
The Ideal Candidate
* Genuine interest in wine, hospitality, or events; expertise not required, but passion is essential.
* Outgoing, self-motivated personality—comfortable initiating conversations via phone or in person.
* Excellent communication skills—friendly, persuasive, and professional.
* Creative in generating attention in a busy market.
* Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to building something special.
If interested, please submit your updated CV.
