Archway Learning Trust are excited to appoint an inspirational SEND practitioner to be the Level 3 SEND Provision Teaching Assistant Bluecoat Bentinck Primary Academy. The post holder will work alongside the SENCo to lead the school towards achieving its vision.

The successful candidate will be joining the academy and trust at an exciting stage of their journey. Since joining Archway Learning Trust in September, Bluecoat Bentinck has built strong leadership capacity and implemented a new curriculum and renewed approaches. The leaders at the academy enjoy high levels of support from trust central staff which is increasing capacity and helping the school, pupils and staff to achieve their potential. Effective and efficient support services underpin work to achieve our educational excellence; Archway Learning Trust has well established central service teams who offer expertise to leaders on aspects of HR, Finance, Estates etc. which enable leaders to focus on school improvement.The Vacancy This is a wonderful opportunity for a self-motivated and passionate candidate to fulfil the role of SEND Specialist Provision Teaching Assistant. The post holder will work alongside, and be supported by, the SENCo to lead our SEND provision across the academy. The post holder will also be responsible for driving the quality of provision on offer for our most high profile SEND students.

They will be an excellent SEND practitioner with demonstrable experience and knowledge of what excellent quality provision looks like for children who fall under the four broad areas of need. The post-holder will lead on best practice to a small team of TA’s in the planning and development of high standards in all aspects of pupil behaviour, attitude, learning and culture suitable for children with a broad range of SEND. They will model and share best practice, sharing strategies and resources to support learners and staff across the academy. They will regularly assess the needs of our SEND students who require bespoke intervention and provision in order to ensure their needs are being met and they are making sustained progress towards our desired outcomes.

They will be involved in initial and ongoing bespoke planning and delivery of targeted and specialist provision plans that are routinely reviewed alongside the SENCo, student, parents/carers and wider agencies. This will include both proactive and reactive provision that reflects the continued and emerging needs of our children. The work of the SEND Specialist Provision Teaching Assistant will be underpinned by our trust ethos of excellence, inclusion and collaboration that pervades our school culture where staff work tirelessly and collaboratively to ensure all of our students receive the best support and pastoral care in order to blossom and make rapid and sustained progress. This role is integral to the development of our SEND team and wider staff body who work closely with students, parents and staff in removing barriers to learning.


The role will be based at the Trust’s Bluecoat Bentinck Primary Academy but the post holders may at any time be required to support or work at any of the sites within Archway Learning Trust.
