Business Development Manager (Grid / Energy/Electrical)
Based in Cambridge, you will join an established team of commercial and technical experts working with clients in the energy and climate tech sector, specifically Electrical and Grid sector.
You will own the commercial responsibility for developing relationships, both new and existing, with regulators, DNOs (e.g., NESO), technology suppliers and disruptors to the DNOs and domestic equipment providers linked to the 4th and 5th generation heating. The role has significant client contact, and you will use your knowledge and experience to drive innovation with our clients. You will define work programmes and develop the commercial approach to bids, ideally working ahead of the RFP to influence the innovation direction of bids. The brief is international, though initially focused in the UK.
Requirements are based on a strong technical foundation in Energy, plus business development experience in this market.
The successful candidate will have a good relevant degree and a technical background in Energy. In addition:
* Experience developing the commercial side of projects within this market area with detailed domain knowledge.
* Previous experience of working in a consultancy, DNO, tech disruptor to the energy sector or other “fee for service” organisation would be an advantage.
* Ideally a track record of building business to deliver technical solutions/services in this sector and experience developing innovative development work for specific client needs.
* Previous experience working within the Energy Sector (Grid / Electrical) is essential.
* Some technical knowledge is also desirable.
