Quality Assurance Specialist Location: Maryport (Rural) Salary: up to £40,000 (DOE) Job Type: Full Time, permanent We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business known for delivering high-quality, performance-critical products to clients across a range of demanding sectors. With continued investment in people, processes, and facilities, they are now looking to strengthen their quality control function with the appointment of a Quality Assurance Specialist. The Role As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that components and parts—both internally manufactured and sourced from suppliers—meet strict quality standards and specification requirements. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out inspections on a wide variety of technical components Operating precision measurement tools including CMMs, micrometers, verniers, and gauge blocks Accurately recording and maintaining quality documentation and inspection results Identifying defects, managing non-conformance reports, and liaising with suppliers for resolution Verifying supplier certification and ensuring documentation compliance Reporting on quality assurance outcomes to department leads Mentoring and supporting junior quality inspectors to maintain best practices Actively contributing to ongoing improvements in quality processes About You We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality inspection or quality control role The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards Experience using CMM equipment and software (ideally PC-DMIS) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach Confidence working independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment Apply online today or call Ellie Ashcroft on 01228 812585 or email Ellie.Ashcroft@NXTRecruitment.co.uk for more details.
