The Opportunity Join the ChemDev team for a 12-month Industrial Placement focused on the intersection of robotic automation and process chemistry. As a Chemistry Apprentice, you will gain hands-on industrial experience while fulfilling the requirements for your University research module. Industrial Placement Student- Chemdev / Chemsearch Key Responsibilities & Academic Component Core Research Project: Lead a "substantial piece of research" focused on optimizing synthetic routes and translating manual chemistry into automated "chemputation" workflows. Analytical Rigor: Utilize HPLC, NMR, and LCMS to provide detailed reaction monitoring and impurity profiling. Academic Deliverables: Produce a high-quality final report including a literature review and methodology, which will be jointly assessed by your Chemify supervisor and University Academic Staff. Collaboration: Work alongside senior scientists to solve complex scaling and manufacturing viability challenges. Requirements Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in MSc Chemistry or MSc Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry (3rd Year). Grade Profile: Must hold a C3 grade or above to meet apprenticeship eligibility. Technical Skills: Meticulous lab technique, strong data interpretation skills, and an interest in chemical engineering/automation. Commitment: Available for a full-time, 12-month placement starting June 2026 .
