Job Summary
A dedicated and experienced Registered Manager is required to oversee the operations of a new children’s care home in the Slough area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in children’s residential care, specifically supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and associated conditions. Applications are also welcomed from Assistant Managers or Duty Managers seeking to progress. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care, managing staff and resources efficiently, and handling matters related to the registration of the facility, supported by an experienced Responsible Individual.
The Home
This is a newly developed residential provision located near a town centre. The home features four spacious bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, and excellent facilities designed to support children with complex needs aged 8 to 17.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the home in line with regulatory requirements and best practice standards.

Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans for residents.

Lead recruitment, training, and management of care staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.

Establish effective communication with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
*
Conduct regular audits and feedback assessments to monitor and improve care quality.
*
Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
*
Maintain accurate records relating to resident care, staff performance, and operational procedures.
*
Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding the registration and ongoing inspection of the home.
Required Experience & Skills
*
Previous experience in a managerial or assistant role within a similar care setting.
*
Sound knowledge of Ofsted standards and children’s residential care regulations.
*
Ability to maintain and develop care services in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations and the Care Standards Act 2000.
*
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.

Proven ability to recruit, retain, and develop a compassionate and competent staff team.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year as Manager/Assistant Manager in a children’s home.
Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards equivalent).
