Our client, a reputable player in the public sector procurement supply chain, is currently seeking a talented Procurement Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support various departments, ensuring optimal supplier agreements, cost savings, and a robust supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and evaluating suppliers, assessing their products and services
Drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts
Predicting levels of demand for services and products
Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
Developing strategies to achieve cost savings and supplier performance targets
Ensuring procurement processes are followed and accurately recorded
Managing and motivating the procurement team
Working with the sustainability team to manage the supply chain in line with sustainability strategies
Providing demonstrable cost savings throughout the business from a quality supply chain
Challenging carriage charges and price increases, communicating these to department managers
Supporting the sales team with tender enquiries and internal sales team with bespoke requests by obtaining the best prices from preferred suppliers
Minimising credit card spend where possible
Ensuring compliance with required corporate governance and approvals in all commercial and contractual aspects
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:
Experience in fabricating and procurement management within the construction sector
Ability to analyse data and produce reports on spending and savings
Proficiency in negotiating contracts and agreements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal teams and suppliers
Experience in managing procurement projects and processes
Familiarity with procurement and supply chain management software
IT literate and proficient in the Microsoft Office package
Desirable:
Product knowledge or previous experience within the hire and fabrication sectors
