We are partnering with a highly regarded Top 50 accountancy practice with a strong national presence to appoint an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join their thriving Northern Kent office. As a trusted advisor within the firm, you will take ownership of a substantial personal tax portfolio, working closely with partners and senior leadership to deliver both strategic advisory and high-quality compliance services. This role offers the perfect balance for someone who enjoys technical complexity, client interaction, and team leadership.
Key responsibilities
* Managing a diverse and high-value personal tax portfolio, ensuring exceptional client service
* Acting as a technical advisor to partners on complex tax matters, including planning opportunities and risk areas
* Leading, mentoring, and developing junior members of the tax team
* Reviewing personal tax returns and overseeing compliance processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
* Identifying and delivering advisory projects across areas such as inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and residency issues
* Playing an active role in business development, with a focus on growing the existing portfolio and strengthening client relationships
* Collaborating across departments to provide holistic, client-centric solutions
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in personal tax within a reputable practice
* ATT qualification as a minimum (CTA or progression towards CTA would be advantageous)
* Strong technical expertise across personal tax compliance and advisory
* Proven experience managing client relationships and handling a sizeable fee portfolio
* Confidence in leading teams and developing junior staff
* A commercial mindset, with a clear interest in growing and developing a portfolio
