Chef/Catering & Hospitality Supervisor @ Congleton
Are you a culinary enthusiast with a flair for flavour and a love for creating delicious meals? We’re looking for a talented Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at the newly renovated Congleton Park Café. This full-time role offers the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive kitchen environment. From prepping and cooking to stocking and ordering, you’ll be hands-on and at the heart of the operations, leading your team, keeping things spotless, and making sure everything runs smoothly. Responsible for food and hygiene safety, training staff and bringing your own culinary ideas to life, this role gives you the chance to take ownership and make a real impact every day.
Responsibilities
* Prepping and cooking a range of dishes, including quick lunches, family meals, and Sunday roasts.
* Stocking, ordering, and maintaining kitchen inventory.
* Leading the kitchen team and ensuring smooth daily operations.
* Upholding food and hygiene safety standards and training staff accordingly.
* Bringing own culinary ideas to life and contributing to menu development.
* Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and managing workload to support a healthy work-life balance.
Qualifications
* Applicants must have at least one year of cooking experience.
* Please be aware that all candidates applying for roles within our leisure centres, cafes, or health/sports provision are required to undergo a Standard or Enhanced DBS.
* As part of this process, you are required to declare any information that may be disclosed in your DBS check before the check is initiated, including criminal convictions or cautions, including traffic offences.

Role Details
* Salary: £25,707
* Hours: Full Time - 37 hrs/week
* Location: Congleton Park Café & Leisure Centre (with kitchen management duties also extending to the nearby Congleton Leisure Centre; occasional site-work as needed)
* Contracted roles follow a three-point grading structure, with the opportunity to advance annually through the PDR (Performance & Development Review) process.
* Typical shifts between 8am–7pm; later hours may occasionally be required for pre-booked events.
