As After School Club Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations and management of an after school club. Managing and directing a small team, you will ensure the safe and organised running of the club, fully supported by your Regional Manager and a dedicated Operations Team at Head Office. Every afternoon, the After School Club Manager will supervise an after school club where you and your team will directly organise, deliver and participate in activities with the children in your care. You will ensure all activities are delivered to KOOSA Kids and Ofsted standards at all times and provide a safe and secure environment for the children in your care to explore, grow and have FUN!
Responsibilities
* Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the After School Club at The Heights Primary School in Caversham, Reading (RG4).
* Print off daily registers and manage a safe and secure sign‑in/sign‑out process each day, communicating effectively with school staff & parents at all times.
* Develop a thorough understanding of the KOOSA Kids programme of activity and deliver activities accordingly to children each afternoon, directing colleagues as appropriate.
* Have awareness of and maintain sensitivity for any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary).
* Purchase healthy snacks for the After School Club.
* Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding, and communicate any concerns to the Safeguarding Officer in a timely fashion.
* Ensure the After School Club operates to Ofsted and KOOSA Kids policies & procedures at all times.
* Carry out daily risk assessments and complete all relevant operational paperwork.
* Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day and carry out cleaning duties as necessary.
* Work hours: Monday – Friday, 2.55 – 6.00 pm term‑time only.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of managerial/supervisory experience in a childcare, early years, or playwork setting.
* A Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Childcare or Playwork (or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential.
* Experience of working in a Primary School, Pre‑School or Nursery as a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator, Nursery Manager or Assistant.
* Reliable, passionate, and committed to working in a child‑centred environment.
* Ability to relate to and engage with children aged 4‑11 years.
* Required to hold a current DBS check and successful completion of an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to describe child‑care activities and settings to parents.
