Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales
2. Teach drama techniques including performance, improvisation, scripted work, and theatre studies
3. Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback
4. Prepare pupils for examinations and performances where applicable
5. Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
6. Contribute to school productions, performances, and extracurricular activities
7. Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
8. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Expressive Arts department
9. Communicate effectively with parents/carers and staff as required
10. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
11. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
12. Degree or strong subject knowledge in Drama / Performing Arts
13. Experience teaching drama at secondary level (KS3 and/or KS4)
14. Strong classroom management skills
15. Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
16. Excellent communication and organisational skills
17. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
