School Crossing Patrol Officer - St Luke's CE School
Position: Permanent, Part Time
Salary: £13.00 per hour

Come and support your local community by joining Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol Team at St Luke's CE Primary School, Church Road, Tiptree, Colchester.
This role involves supporting schools in the morning and afternoon to ensure the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from the school and surrounding areas.
We are seeking a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public.
The position is approximately 7.5 hours per week, with holiday pay included. You need to be available during the 39 weeks of the academic year, working about 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and 45 minutes in the afternoon (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians using the crossing.
* Maintain regular contact with the schools associated with the crossing.
* Assess risks at the crossing site regularly, identify issues, and report problems to your supervisor.
* Assist in preparing reports on accidents, failure to stop incidents, and other occurrences at the crossing.
* Keep all uniform and equipment in good condition and request replacements when needed.
* Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure the road is clear of pedestrians before allowing crossing.
