The role As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will work with highly specialised equipment in the Nuclear sector, operating in an exciting, highly-regulated and technically challenging environment. You’ll be part of the Roving Team who are responsible for supporting the Heysham, Torness and Hartlepool power stations with ongoing maintenance during shut down periods. Provision of any specific tools, spares or other equipment to carry out the task. Generally, non-specific hand tools will be provided by the resident CNL Site Team, the GCIP Site Team, or EDF Energy. Interpretation and implementation of the task, including the associated quality requirements. The completion of the scope of work to time and budget constraints. The timely production/completion of any appropriate documentation and records associated with the task (Assembly & Test Plans for example). The Technician may be supported in the execution of these duties by a team of supervisory staff. The services of site establishment, e.g. quality, safety, administration etc will also be available. The role is on a permanent basis, contracted hours are 37 per week however will require frequent overtime (paid at 1.5x) including day and night shifts, typical shifts are 12 hours per day. You will be required to stay at the various sites throughout the year. Essential experience of the Mechanical Technician: Experience within a mechanical technician role Qualifications for the Mechanical Technician: Ideally a Degree/HNC/ONC or a comparable engineering qualification Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
