Job Title: Power Electronics Design EngineerLocation: GlasgowSalary: Up to £60k (depending on experience) We're partnering with an innovative technology company seeking a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the design and development of advanced power electronic systems, from concept through to production, in a collaborative, technically driven environment. Key Responsibilities Design and develop power electronic circuits, including DC-DC, AC-DC, and motor drive systemsCreate schematics and PCB layouts for high-current and high-voltage designs, including multi-layer boardsSelect components, calculate ratings, and manage bills of materials (BOMs) for power designsSupport prototype build, bring-up, testing, and debugging, including thermal and efficiency validationConduct design verification, EMC/EMI testing, and ensure regulatory complianceParticipate in design reviews and produce clear technical documentationSupport transition from prototype to production, including manufacturability and reliability considerations Required Skills & Experience Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related disciplineStrong experience in power electronics design (switch-mode power supplies, converters, motor drives, inverters)PCB design experience using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad, including high-current/high-voltage layoutsSolid understanding of power systems, thermal management, signal integrity, and EMC principlesExperience taking designs from concept through to manufacture and productionExposure to embedded systems or microcontrollers is advantageousKnowledge of relevant compliance standards (CE, UKCA, FCC) Please note, we cannot offer sponsorship for this role.If you are interested, please send over an updated CV.
