About the Role:
As the School Secretary, you will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school office, acting as the first point of contact for staff, parents, and visitors. You will provide vital secretarial and administrative support to the Headteacher and teaching team, manage school records and systems, and be a key figure in maintaining the school's welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all administrative tasks including HR, finance, and pupil records
• Manage staff data and maintain the Single Central Record
• Liaise with payroll, input data using Capita and Arbor (experience with Arbor highly desirable)
• Handle school admissions, pupil transfers, and organise school tours
• Provide secretarial support to the Headteacher and SLT
• Maintain effective communication with parents, suppliers, and the Local Authority
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Experienced in school administration (essential)
• Familiar with Arbor and/or Capita systems (highly desirable)
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and database systems
• A great communicator with strong organisational skills
• Calm, professional, and able to work independently
• Passionate about working in a child-focused environment
