Main duties of the job
The Receptionist/Administrator role at Peel GPs requires enthusiastic, friendly, positive, and professional individuals who enjoy working as part of a team and strive to deliver a high standard of service to patients and the public in an efficient, effective, courteous, and confidential manner. The role also involves supporting clinicians (doctors and nurses) and managers to meet practice requirements.
The role is 27.5 hours per week on a rolling 2-week rota. Shifts are 7.50 am - 1.20 pm and 1.00 pm - 6.30 pm (Week One: 3 early shifts & 2 late shifts; Week Two: 2 early shifts & 3 late shifts).

Two-week rolling rota to meet practice needs, primarily Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7.50 am to 6.30 pm, alternating between morning and afternoon shifts.
Responsibilities include:
* Welcoming patients at the reception desk
* Handling patient arrivals for appointments
* Directing patients to GPs and nurses
* Booking appointments
* Processing prescription requests electronically
* Dealing with inquiries and handing out sick notes
* Accepting pathology samples for transport
* Promoting practice services professionally
* Maintaining tidiness in the waiting and reception areas
* Managing the telephone system, including requests for home visits
* Using clinical software (Emis) for data entry and record keeping
* Participating in audits and quality frameworks
* Scanning documents, coding, and referral management
* Liaising with healthcare professionals and agencies
* Attending meetings and participating in practice learning sessions
* Representing Peel GPs professionally in meetings and visits
* Maintaining confidentiality and information governance standards
* Assisting with stock control and medical record management
* Participating in staff appraisals and training
* Adhering to health and safety regulations
Note: Duties may be revised as practice needs change, and staff are expected to undertake training and cover colleagues' duties during absences.
