The right candidate will be responsible for the implementation of Cat5/6 cabling systems into customer premises and Data Centre location. Additionally, this may extend to installing Fibre Optic systems.
Where fault situations have arisen with either Cat5/6 or Fibre cabling, carry out fault diagnosis and any remedial actions thereafter.
Carry out Wireless Surveys at customer locations and mount the ordered equipment thereafter.
Core Responsibilities:
* Installation of Cat5/6 structured cable systems within the Data Centre.
* Testing and termination of Cat5/6 cable systems.
* Installation of Fibre Optic cable systems.
* Testing and termination of Fibre Optic systems.
* Carry out customer cabinet tidy (un-patch / re-patch).
* Physical mounting of the various Wireless Systems supply.
* Carry out Wireless Site surveys for optimal AP location.
* Responsible for quality compliance in their department and reporting upon quality to the Quality Manager
Experience desired:
* Strong administration and planning skills
* Ability to communicate at all levels
* Well organized and computer literate
* Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively with minimal supervision
* Pro-active and able to work well on own initiative, whilst being a good team player
* Confident communicator with polite and professional attitude to work
* Ability to manage customer enquiries and changes whilst on site
* Respect for confidentiality
* Willingness to work flexibly to meet business demands
* Highly motivated individual with a positive can-do attitude
* IPAF certified
* ECS Card Holder (was CSCS)
* Fibre Optic termination and testing, trained and certified
