Role
We have an exciting Fixed Term Contract opportunity for a high-calibre graduate to join a large and dynamic finance and business performance team in Leeds city centre as an Assistant Accountant until December 2025.
This role offers excellent development opportunities and is responsible for preparing various financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. It is a hybrid role based in our Leeds office, requiring two days in the office per week.
Key Responsibilities
1. Validate cost of sales invoices against industry data.
2. Resolve queries with industry counterparties.
3. Create and validate TPI (broker) invoices and resolve related queries.
4. Manage recovery of exposed TPIs by calculating and processing accurate reconciliations.
5. Reduce balance sheet positions related to ended contracts by identifying required reconciliations and providing accurate information.
6. Support the month-end reporting cycle.
7. Assist in the production and delivery of monthly management accounts.
8. Conduct variance analysis of revenues and costs and follow variances through to recovery.
9. Understand the sales order book and identify data discrepancies.
10. Understand our cost data, industry data flows, and volumes.
11. Develop profitability reporting through price component revenue analysis.
12. Prepare documentation for the BSR review.
13. Maintain process documentation for role-related processes.
14. Perform reconciliations for major cost components.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines, organized, methodical, and adaptable.
* Excellent process delivery and improvement skills.
* Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI is a plus.
* Strong teamwork skills and effective communication with both finance and non-finance teams.
* Highly numerate.
* Degree-level education or higher required.
