Role Title: Lead Project Manager
Location: Derby Sites
Reports to: Operations Manager
Role Purpose
Responsible for the safe execution of a portfolio of concurrent projects for various Rolls Royce sites. The Lead Project Manager will ensure projects meet Integral & Rolls Royce standards regarding health, safety, quality, cost, and programme, while complying with current CDM legislation as a Principal Contractor, including MS18 and CSO6 standards. Qualifications in a related trade such as mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, building fabric, or roofing are required.
Lead Project Manager Responsibilities
1. Manage a portfolio of projects valued between £50k and £15m across Rolls Royce sites in Derby.
2. Provide health and safety leadership to site delivery teams, promote safety behaviors, and ensure reporting of KPIs, near misses, and incidents in line with procedures. Conduct safety audits and report findings to management.
3. Serve as the primary contact for Project Managers, ensuring they have the necessary information, resources, and support for project delivery.
4. Set, monitor, and review objectives for team members; mentor and coach as needed and manage performance in line with company policies.
5. Support risk management processes, establish effective controls, and lead in quotations and estimates risk management.
6. Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to protect and enhance the company's reputation.
7. Keep accurate records of work completed and expenditure; monitor and approve timesheets and expenses.
8. Build and lead new project teams for new workstreams, coordinating with Project Managers on resource planning.
9. Collaborate with the Senior Design Manager to ensure production of robust, economical, and constructible designs; support project opportunities to improve commercial performance.
10. Coordinate with Rolls Royce Project Managers to ensure project compliance with MS18, CS06, and delivery schedules and budgets, seeking ongoing feedback to maintain quality standards.
11. Lead your team to meet and exceed project management expectations, supporting individual and team performance.
12. Ensure project quality aligns with British Standards, codes of practice, and Rolls Royce standards, aiming for snag and defect-free completion.
13. Ensure post-completion deliverables such as final accounts and O&M information are provided within agreed timelines.
What We Will Need From You
1. Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, preferably as a Lead Project Manager.
2. Experience working in occupied buildings or campuses is highly desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations across multiple sites.
4. Experience in preparing quotations and estimates.
5. Ability to understand and align with customer business requirements.
6. Construction-related qualifications such as City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent.
7. Certifications including SSSTS/SMSTS, JIB/BESA, CSCS, First Aid.
8. Proficiency with MS Office, Fieldview or similar software; experience with Asta, MS Projects, or Primavera is desirable.
9. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
10. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of problem-solving.
11. Reliable, conscientious, flexible, and a team leader.
