Process Safety Engineer – Agratas
As a Process Safety Engineer at Agratas, you'll be a subject matter expert. You will support our engineering and design teams to efficiently integrate process safety into the factory and process design. The role will be based in the UK with potential for some international travel. Reporting into the Process Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and provide expert technical support in process safety areas such as ATEX/DSEAR risk assessment, hazardous area classification, safe handling of combustible dusts, and control of electrostatic hazards.
* Support the execution of process risk assessments and hazard analysis exercises underpinning a safe design, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and QRA.
* Advise and steer on application of local rules, international standards, and best practice to promote inherently safe design.
Qualifications
* Proven process safety experience in a high‑hazard or COMAH regulated environment.
* Strong knowledge of process safety legislation, codes of practice and standards (e.g., DSEAR, pressure relief).
* Solid understanding and experience of hazard study methodologies.
* Understanding and experience of QRA techniques and analysis, e.g., consequence modelling, OBRA.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and a strong attention to detail.
* Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
