This is a fixed term contract projected to last 4 years from entry on duty date, depending upon budgetary constraints.

Core Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough inspections of challenging construction projects, including sophisticated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within explosives‑rated facilities that store munitions and aircraft.
* Perform regular evaluations to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards for weapons and explosives safety.
* Act as a technical advisor to the contracting office and engineering flight, providing expert guidance on project requirements.
* Inspect materials, equipment, and specialised systems, such as lightning protection, to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
* Compile detailed written reports based on inspection findings and the interpretation of applicable policies and regulations.
Qualifications and Key Skills
* City and Guilds/ NVQ Level 3 – Award in Electrical Installations BS 7671 (18th Edition). Training can be provided by the organization.
* City and Guilds/ NVQ Level 3 – EAL Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations or NVQ Level 3 – 2391‑52.
* A valid UK CAT B driving licence.
* Knowledge of construction inspection practices and procedures involved in the inspection of building materials, workmanship, utilities, and the installation of systems; and the practical methods and techniques of engineering principles relating to complex construction practices and procedures.
* Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects of major construction projects.
* Knowledge of inspection and safety practices and procedures in the construction industry.
* Knowledge of engineering and architectural plans and specifications to read and interpret construction requirements.
* Knowledge of construction trades, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical deficiencies.
* Must obtain CompEx 01‑04 and Ammo‑47 Air Force Electrical Explosive Safety certifications within 12 months of employment (or be already certified); failure due to employee negligence will result in termination.
Additional Requirements
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
2. Travel by military and/or civilian aircraft may be required, including travel to the US or other countries for official duties or training.
3. Complete a 6‑month probationary period.
4. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs; overtime may be required; duties not included in this description but appropriate to the grade and skill set may be assigned.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK. Certain restrictions apply to US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
