What you'll be doing day to day
1. Manage a small portfolio of clients including high-net-worth individuals, non-resident, trusts, and estates
2. Deliver tailored Private Client tax advice and lead on advisory assignments
3. Collaborate with Partners, Directors, and Managers on new projects and client engagements
4. Prepare complex tax returns and review work completed by team members
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
6. Handle client queries regarding tax matters, escalating planning or investigation issues as needed
7. Liaise directly with clients and HMRC to ensure outstanding service delivery
8. Uphold compliance standards and internal procedures, ensuring time recording and budget targets are met
9. Build strong relationships across departments to drive effective outcomes
10. Act as the first point of contact for straightforward client issues
11. Contribute to business development through networking and client engagement
12. Support billing, WIP, and debtor management processes
13. Mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering their development
About you
14. ATT/CTA qualified (or equivalent), or part-qualified with relevant experience
15. Private client tax experience in a public practice environment
16. Experience in using tax software and computer-based tax compilation programmes; plus MS Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
17. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
18. A proactive, organised individual who enjoys problem-solving and developing others
