We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Specialist to join our team of consultants in the provision of ENT services on the Isle of Wight or other areas in partnership with the team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU). We are seeking a Generalist with a specialism to be confirmed based on experience.
This is a new post, ideal for someone to join the department with an innovative and enthusiast personality to develop the service in partnership with local and PHU consultants. Hence, we are looking for someone who has good clinical experience, ideally with FRCS (ORL) and would like to progress their career through CESR to attain the recognition as a specialist on the specialist register to work as a consultant. All support will be provided to achieve that goal within first few years of their appointment.
The post holder with work primarily on the Isle of Wight with one day per week working at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU), this travel time is incorporated within the job plan.
Post holders will be allocated operating sessions, outpatient activities, clinical diagnostic work and other patient treatment.
Consultants and Specialist doctors will provide a 1 in 4 with prospective cover. On-call will commence Monday 9am until Monday 9am and is 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Post holders will be expected to carry out emergency duties (including emergency work carried out during or arising from on-call); operating sessions including pre-operative and post-operative care, ward rounds, multi-disciplinary meetings (MDT), outpatient activities, clinical diagnostic work, other patient treatment and administration.
