About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking a teacher to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. The role will mainly be based at Temple Newsam, with occasional work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. Though the role does not include practical delivery, the department is based on a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable working in a land‑based environment. The department delivers courses from entry level to Level 6, and the successful candidate will principally work with Further Education students, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work with a variety of learners. The role is permanent full‑time, starting September 2026.
What You Will Do
* Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources.
* Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods.
* Create effective assessment activities, provide SMART learning targets, developmental and timely feedback to motivate learners to improve.
* Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.
* Reflect on teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Join a friendly, supportive, hard‑working team passionate about developing learners’ self‑esteem, abilities and progress.
About You
* Be qualified to degree level in a related subject.
* Hold or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification.
* Have relevant up‑to‑date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
* Be qualified with English and Maths at Level 2 or above.
