Warehouse Manager at Greggs
Join the Leeds Logistics team at Greggs. As a Warehouse Manager, you’ll oversee a high‑volume 24/7 warehouse operation responsible for distributing chilled, frozen and ambient goods to over 270 shops. You’ll lead a large multidisciplinary team across multiple temperature‑controlled environments, managing day‑to‑day operations with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency and colleague engagement. You’ll be accountable for operational performance and compliance, driving continuous improvement to shape exciting and dynamic ways of working within the Leeds Warehousing function.

About the role

Responsibilities (What you'll do)
* Implement the business plan for future growth of the Distribution Centre
* Recruit and develop the warehouse team to deliver to 270+ shops
* Ensure goods are available for dispatch to shops at the required time to meet service levels
* Champion warehouse management systems
* Create and implement rota patterns for 24/7 cover while maintaining service and budgetary control
* Review internal customer interface and systems to identify actions to improve customer satisfaction
* Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators, fully utilising them to drive improvement
* Lead Logistics site team meetings to identify areas to improve cost and customer service KPI performance
* Manage the dispatch process to ensure continuous improvement
* Manage Manual Handling Equipment fleet and compliance
* Ensure Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards are adhered to
* Ensure team training is carried out within company policy and legal compliance
* Lead the team with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility in line with the values
* Carry out PDRs with direct reports, agree targets and objectives, conduct monthly 1‑to‑1s and agree individual development plans to foster strong communication links within the department
* Assist the Logistics Manager in identifying and developing proactive warehouse approaches
Qualifications (About you)
* Significant experience in fast‑moving logistics; previous FMCG distribution experience ideal
* Strong financial acumen and proven track record for managing large operational budgets
* Strong team player, can build good working relationships at all levels
* Proven ability to provide excellence in customer service
* High accuracy and attention to detail
* Experienced multitasker capable of working with multiple priorities calmly and at pace
* Results‑focused with strong planning, prioritising and organisational skills
* Advanced IT skills (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
* Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure and using own initiative
