Adjudicator (Lawyer, Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive)
Join UK Regulators' Network as an Adjudicator. This full‑time hybrid role requires a qualified legal professional with solid experience in evidence‑based decision making and regulatory law.
Responsibilities
* Make regulatory decisions on matters such as fining, imposing controls, rebukes, conditions, interventions, applications for compensation fund payments, and review decisions of the operational team.
* Produce clear, reasoned and proportionate decisions by applying the relevant legal framework, policy and criteria to protect the public interest and mitigate regulatory risk.
* Identify ways to improve the quality of decision making, deliver internal training and contribute to projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Solicitor, barrister, chartered legal executive, or equivalent legal qualification with entitlement to practise in England and Wales.
* Substantial decision‑making experience or deep knowledge of regulatory law, with accountability for complex decisions.
* Strong analytical, drafting and writing skills; ability to influence, argue coherently and make findings on disputed facts while considering risk.
* Track record of leading and delivering solutions for complex issues using sound judgement.
* Excellent communication skills with experience building relationships and trust with staff and colleagues at all levels while remaining objective.
* Consideration of equality and fairness at all times.
* Resilient and able to work in a constantly changing environment.
Location and Contract
Birmingham, Cardiff, London – Full time, Permanent. Flexible working, Hybrid.
