Our Clinical Safety Team values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a motivated Junior Clinical Safety Officer with a passion for patient safety and an interest in healthcare risk management. This role offers hands-on experience in digital clinical safety practices and career progression from Junior CSO to Clinical Safety Officer, including CSO training and further experience. It is a full-time position with participation in the on-call rota.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Support the Clinical Safety function to ensure all digital health solutions meet standards and regulations.
* Work under the guidance of a qualified Clinical Safety Officer.
* Ensure product compliance with standards and policies.
* Engage with clinicians and teams for safe product design and implementation.
* Participate in clinical risk assessments.
* Assist in safety documentation, investigations, reporting, and root cause analysis.
* Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
* Assist with audits and implement recommendations.
* Participate in on-call and out-of-hours responsibilities.
* Maintain clinical registration and competence.
* Contribute to safety reports, hazard logs, clinical evaluations, and related documentation for assigned products.
Skills & Experience
The candidate must:
* Hold current registration with a professional clinical body (e.g., NMC, HCPC).
* Have NHS informatics experience with EPR/software.
* Understand clinical workflows in NHS/private healthcare settings.
* Have knowledge of NHS healthcare market, suppliers, and competitors.
Desired skills include:
* Knowledge of Medical Device Regulation, DCB0129, DCB0160 standards.
* Attendance or willingness to attend an accredited CSO course.
* Understanding of system analysis, development, testing, and lifecycle management.
* Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Salesforce.
