The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy, helping people move into employment, supporting pensioners, and protecting vulnerable individuals in society. Counter Fraud Compliance and Debt’s (CFCD) aim is to reduce fraud, error, and debt within the benefit system, safeguarding public funds.

The CFCD CBRS Grade 7 (G7) leads the Directorate’s approach to ensuring compliance with Security, Data, and Information requirements. This role involves responding to Briefings and departmental requests such as FOIs through a Briefing Hatch function, identifying and mitigating key risks, and maintaining effective controls to keep CFCD secure.
Leading a small team, the G7 collaborates closely with team members, making teamwork essential.
The G7 leads efforts to:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, aligning with the DWP Risk Management Framework, and provide narratives that contribute to the DWP Services and Fraud Risk Plan.
* Report risks and mitigation activities to support decision-making by the Performance Risk and Deployment Board and the executive team.
* Integrate risk awareness into everyday business activities.
* Work with FED Policy and CFCD Functional areas to respond effectively to briefings received via the CFCD Briefing Hatch, ensuring timely responses.
* Develop the Briefing Hatch function to meet increasing FOI requests and briefing requirements.
* Coordinate with DWP Security and Information Management to ensure compliance, manage risks, and develop improvement plans.
* Promote Security, Data, and Information awareness through ongoing training initiatives.
* Develop and oversee the CFCD Business Continuity Plan within the DWP framework.
* Coordinate activities to ensure Business Continuity Plans are in place and tested across CFCD.
* Support access to small portals and establish new processes as needed.
* Assist with the DWP ID Badging Process to support colleagues requiring identification.
Note: Due to the team's dispersed locations, frequent travel and overnight stays are required.
