Personal Assistant Required (5h15 per week)
£13.00 per hour
Responsibilities
* Daily support in preparing and making meals for the individual, as she is not able to do this herself due to seizures.
* Discuss with the individual what she would like for her meals, then prepare these.
* Prepare a drink of choice.
* Support with telephone calls.
* Clean up following assistance with meal preparation.
* Attend to the dog that resides at the property.
* Support the employer with encouragement in gaining independence.
* Enable the employer to interact socially in their community.
* Provide support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest.
* Support the employer to develop independent living skills.
* Provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation and social interaction.
* Encourage the employer to attend appointments.
* Ensure the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by the employer during your working hours.
* Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.
* Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and report any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately on 01267 228751.
* Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if the employer needs medical assistance.

1. Ability to develop a supportive and caring relationship with employer.
2. To undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner.
3. Able to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary.
Job Working Environment
Working in the employer’s homes and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.
Person Specification – Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
* Caring, patient and friendly.
* Responsible, reliable and honest.
* Proactive and self‑motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
* Has good local knowledge of the area where the employer lives.
* Good time‑keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties as determined by the employer’s requirements.
* Ability to keep simple records such as time recording.
* Good communicator able to talk to people on behalf of the employer when required.
* Able to develop long‑term supportive and consistent relationships with employers.
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required, depending on the needs of the employer and whether you live within walking distance.
* You must be prepared to have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
* Be prepared to undergo training to best meet the employer’s needs.
Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
A Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS) / criminal record check will require to be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of job offer.
