Job Summary

Data Analyst at Kernow Health CIC

Are you passionate about using data to drive better healthcare outcomes? We’re looking for a skilled Data Analyst with Power BI experience to join our Business Intelligence team. You’ll play a pivotal role in designing, maintaining, and optimising dashboards and semantic models that support NHS performance metrics, operational intelligence, and strategic decision-making.

* Communicating complex findings to clinical and non-technical audiences
* Supporting scheduled submissions and ad hoc requests with agility and professionalism

Requirements

Please note this role is 30 - 37.5 hours per week and £31,049 - £37,796 per annum for FTE (37.5 hours). This role will be hybrid working, home based with attendance at the head office in Truro, Cornwall as required.


Main duties of the job

The Data Analyst will develop, maintain, and optimise reporting solutions across Kernow Health, including Integrated Urgent Care (IUC), Integrated Community Care and Primary Care services. Working independently and collaboratively, you will deliver accurate, insightful dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Excel, respond to data requests, automate workflows with Power Automate, and uphold high standards of data quality and governance. Strong knowledge of NHS terminology, data processes, and reporting requirements is essential; familiarity with integrated care contexts is desirable.

Job Responsibilities

* Maintain, develop, and optimise Power BI dashboards to support IUC reporting and NHS metrics
* Build and troubleshoot Power BI semantic models for scalability and accuracy
* Use Power Query (M), DAX, and SQL (desirable) for dynamic, reusable logic
* Automate data workflows with Power Automate
* Respond to ad hoc data requests and collaborate with NHS and ICB teams
* Ensure data quality and reconcile outputs; resolve discrepancies
* Document measures, calculations, and visuals for transparency and auditability
* Communicate insights clearly to clinical, operational, and non-technical audiences
* Work independently and with teams; engage with IT and stakeholders on projects
* Support scalable data architecture and back-end data pipelines (desirable)


Person Specification


Essential

* Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple tasks
* Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query)
* Experience identifying and resolving Power BI issues
* Ability to work independently and manage complex reporting tasks
* Understanding of NHS terminology and data processes
* Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to respond to ad hoc requests
* Attention to detail and data reconciliation


Desirable

* Knowledge of Power Automate and cloud automation
* Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and SQL
* Experience in Integrated Urgent Care or similar healthcare setting
* Experience collaborating with ICB and NHS teams
