Environmental Sustainability Advisor – Regional Carbon Advisor E&W Central
Join Balfour Beatty plc as an Environmental Sustainability Advisor – Regional Carbon Advisor E&W Central to support our Sustainability Strategy and deliver company and client carbon reduction targets.
Responsibilities
* Undertake carbon baselining, hotspot identification and reduction target setting on projects to ensure carbon assessments are complete, use tailored carbon factors where available, and are auditable for PAS 2080 compliance.
* Collate actual carbon data from in‑flight projects by working with stakeholders across project teams, including procurement, commercial, design, environmental, sustainability and project management.
* Provide carbon analysis from Candy or support others to do so, giving preconstruction and delivery teams an understanding of hotspots and focus for reductions.
* Support the development and continual improvement of the Carbon Management System processes as necessary.
* Develop and implement Carbon Management Plans, in collaboration with project teams, to drive carbon reductions.
* Utilise Moata or a similar tool for carbon reporting to the client.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrable industry experience in a technical role (engineering / commercial) on major infrastructure / civil engineering projects with a good understanding of construction methods, processes and temporary works.
* Experience of bid, preconstruction or construction delivery phases of projects incorporating major complex civil engineering.
* Commitment to help drive change and carbon management capability across the business.
* Good interpersonal skills that enable relationships to be developed at all levels of the business.
* Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem‑solving ability.
* Some experience of engineering or commercial processes, supporting multi‑level projects and programmes.
