Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of a MYDoc Registrar (ST3-ST5) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology for doctors who are passionate about delivering high‑quality women’s healthcare and developing their careers outside traditional training pathways.
Job responsibilities
* Assessment and management of women in labour ward
* Emergency obstetric care including operative vaginal delivery and emergency Caesarean section (as competent)
* Management of obstetric triage and antenatal ward patients
* Emergency gynaecology assessment and management
* Participation in elective gynaecology theatre (according to skill set)
* Outpatient clinics (antenatal, gynaecology or specialist clinics depending on experience)
* Contribution to multidisciplinary team meetings
This role is not recognised as a UK training post, but post-holders will have a named Educational and Clinical Supervisor, undertake a personalised development plan, access structured educational opportunities, build a portfolio to support CESR/Portfolio Pathway or other career progression routes, and receive certified outcomes aligned to development.
Essential person specification
* Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
* Medical Degree from recognised medical school
* Successful completion of post registration training
* MRCS or equivalent
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Experience in acute and elective General Surgery at CT2 or equivalent level for at least 12 months with recent experience in the NHS
* Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving
* Possesses good communication skills
