Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to work within a secondary school in the Wirral area. This role offers flexible working options, including full-time, part-time, and ad-hoc temporary cover.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work that has been set and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
This role is ideal for individuals considering a future career in teaching, graduates looking to gain school experience, or experienced support staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
* Ensure students remain on task with the work set by teaching staff
* Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
* Provide support and guidance to students where required
* Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures
Requirements
* Experience working with young people is desirable
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage a classroom environment confidently
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Reliable, organised, and professional approach
