Everyday job role of the plant operator are responsible for the plant & technology itself and making sure the daily targets are achieved, to do this you will need to operate the plant while conducting safety and data collection checks throughout operational times. Responsible for making sure that the material holding chambers are connected to the plant correctly and all necessary valves are open for example.
What You'll Do:
* Take ownership of daily plant operations - monitor, inspect, and control plant parameters.
* Keep everything running safely and efficiently, from startups to shutdowns.
* Respond fast and smart to operational challenges - routine, deviation, or emergency.
* Carry out first-line maintenance and fault-finding to keep downtime to a minimum.
* Manage fuel and material deliveries - from offloading to documentation.
* Support the Operations Supervisor with outages, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure compliance and safety are always front and centre - because you know shortcuts cost more than time.
* General plant operation
* Conducting of operational and safety checks
* Data collection, analysation, and submission
* Hitting production targets
* Mobile plant machinery operation
Requirements/Good to have:
* NVQ Level 3 or time-served apprenticeship in engineering or process operations.
* Proven experience in a continuous process or production environment.
* Strong analytical mindset - you can spot, solve, and prevent issues before they escalate.
* Solid understanding of Safe Systems of Work, Permit to Work, and risk assessments.
* A proactive attitude and genuine pride in operational excellence.
* Forklift Licence (Training & Certification can be provided)
* 360 Material Hander Licence (Training & Certification can be provided)
