You will work as part of the endoscopy waiting list team, administering waiting lists in line with Trust policies and procedures, ensuring elective admissions are processed effectively, and meeting National and local access targets.
Responsibilities
* Administer the endoscopy waiting list in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
* Ensure elective admissions are processed effectively and National/local access targets are met.
* Undertake systematic, regular validation of admission lists.
* Coordinate the booking of endoscopy sessions to capacity with the wider Endoscopy team.
* Agree admission dates with patients, send out letters and information to patients regarding their admission to hospital.
* Notify Endoscopy staff of special equipment needs to ensure availability at the time of the procedure.
* Deal with enquiries from patients and GPs about waiting times and admissions, including patients with suspected or confirmed cancer and from diverse backgrounds.
* Maintain specified waiting lists in accordance with Trust waiting list policies.
* Add patients to waiting lists in a timely manner, ensuring that patient details are correct and complete.
* Arrange admissions according to clinical priority (including cancer fast track) and breach date, performing data input, analysis of waiting lists and rotation planning to organise theatre schedules.
* Use knowledge of case‑mix and equipment requirements when scheduling patients into Endoscopy sessions.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in waiting list management is desirable.
* Good keyboard skills and computer literacy.
* Excellent communication skills; able to interact with the general public and with healthcare professionals.
* Flexible, motivated, and an enthusiastic team player.
* Knowledge of case‑mix and equipment requirements is a plus.
