As a Transactions Tax Director, you will be responsible for leading our teams in providing the full range of tax due diligence and M&A structuring services to our clients.
The role involves working with both domestic and international clients, offering opportunities for those with UK or cross-border experience.
We expect the right candidate to have significant experience in transactions taxes, including leadership and strategy development. This role may also be suitable for someone stepping into their first leadership position with potential to build a future partnership case.
Role & Responsibilities
Based on current team needs, the role includes:
1. Overseeing the delivery of complex tax due diligence assignments, including corporation tax due diligence services;
2. Liaising with VAT, employment taxes, and other specialist teams across Mazars group countries to manage tax due diligence projects;
3. Collaborating with our transaction services team to market and secure new financial and tax due diligence projects;
4. Building client relationships through engagements and pursuing opportunities identified during due diligence to support clients post-deal;
5. Leading tax advisory structuring services, ensuring successful delivery of complex assignments;
6. Managing a portfolio of M&A tax advisory clients and owning overall client relationships;
7. Scoping assignments, negotiating fees, and coordinating with deal advisory teams for seamless service delivery;
8. Ensuring advice is accurately reflected in all transaction aspects through communication with clients and advisors;
9. Collaborating across tax, advisory, and consulting teams to identify opportunities and support go-to-market initiatives.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
As the team develops, youll help shape the future of the transactions tax team by working with existing partners to design and implement growth strategies, improve processes, and support team training. You will also have responsibilities for supporting team members professional development, appraisals, and performance management.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Relevant professional qualification such as ACA or CTA (or equivalent);
* Strong technical knowledge of key tax issues affecting companies and shareholders during transactions;
* Experience in transactions and project management, leading complex assignments;
* Ability to mentor, share expertise, and support team development;
* Experience managing client financials, monitoring performance, and negotiating fees.
