Job Summary
The Support Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. This position involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they care for, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's.
Duties
* Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide support with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
* Document care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager.
* Support clients with behaviour management strategies as needed.
* Assist with heavy lifting when required for client mobility or equipment handling.
Skills
* Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in patient care techniques, including first aid and medication administration.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices.
* Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide emotional support to clients and their families.
* Competence in meal preparation that meets dietary restrictions or preferences of clients.
* Ability to drive safely when transporting clients or running errands as necessary.
* Experience in childcare may be beneficial for those working with families requiring support. This role requires a dedicated individual who is not only skilled but also compassionate and patient, ready to make a positive impact on the lives of those they serve.

Pay: £12.21-£13.98 per hour
