Devon Building Control Partnership require a Technician to join their friendly, professional and committed team of Building Control Surveyors and Technicians processing applications, monitoring/arranging site inspections and dealing with all Building Control matters.
You will provide first point of contact to customers giving a professional service including guidance and advice on fees, application requirements and exemptions. You will also to provide administration support to a team of professional surveyors within the Devon Building Control Partnership.
You will provide a high quality service to our clients, the public, partners and elected Members to ensure that performance standards and business targets are achieved.
The ideal post holder will have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize workload as well as an understanding of the Building Regulation process.

*To be successful in this role, you will:*
* Have a good level of literacy and numeracy, equivalent to achieving GCSE Maths and English Grade C (4) or above.
* Have basic relevant experience and an understanding of the job or transferable skills and the aptitude to learn quickly.
* Have strong attention to detail, remain level-headed and have positive approach to your work.
* Have good customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately with colleagues, members of the public and partner agencies.
* Cooperate with others to achieve good outcomes as a team.
*You might have:*
* a good understanding of the Building Regulation process.
* LABC/CABE/CIOB Level 3 in Technical Support.
Whilst the post is based at the Partnership's offices in Newton Abbot there may be the opportunity for some remote working once fully trained.
